If there is something you’ve been putting off thinking about, now is the time. Set aside just ten minutes today and think. You can talk it out to an invisible person if it helps, cry, scream, beat up a pillow. But process it just a little bit today, not all of it.

ALTERNATIVE: If this is a very difficult thing for you to do, ask a friend if they would be willing to sit in the room next to yours in case you need support. If your psychologist does not recommend this technique, instead think about a happy memory and make yourself some tea. Everyone heals differently.
